The meadow of the tombs
Los Navalucillos spreads across the foothills of the Rocigalgo massif. Its name is said to mean «plain or meadow of the tombs», after the slightly human-shaped graves cut into the rock; some burials still hold Visigothic remains.
The present municipality was born in 1835, when the settlements of Navalucillos de Toledo and Navalucillos de Talavera joined. It is the most populated of the six in the park and its northern gateway: the mountain routes to El Chorro and the Rocigalgo start here.
What to see
- Church of San Sebastián, in Mudéjar style and from the late 16th century, with a Baroque altarpiece from the school of Churriguera.
- Hermitage of Nuestra Señora de las Saleras, Renaissance, of the patron saint. Its surroundings were paved with cobbles again in 2024.
- Ethnographic Museum, opened in June 2023, and Lucinia Farming Museum.
- The Plaza del Álamo, where the town hall stands, and the welcome gateway with its motto: «Where nobody is a stranger».
Cheese and olive oil
In calle Río Pusa, 2, is the cheese dairy Cerrucos de Kanama, one of the businesses holding the park's European Charter for Sustainable Tourism. It offers visits, tastings with organic wine and workshops on cheeses and curds, and its cheeses keep winning medals: its «Primavera» has reached the podium of the World Cheese Awards in 2023 and 2024, and the Cerruco Natural won gold at the Excellent Taste Awards in London in 2025. Very close, in Los Navalmorales, the estate La Pontezuela has an olive-grove interpretation centre, chosen Best Tourist Product of Castilla-La Mancha in 2023, and an oil, 5 Elementos, awarded the International Olive Council's Mario Solinas prize in 2025 in the small producers category. The park newsletters report it (all the newsletters).
