The Colada de Navalrincón is a drove road, one of those tracks along which livestock used to move, and today it joins the Torre de Abraham and Casa Palillos visitor centres. It is nine and a half almost flat kilometres, partly inside the park and partly outside, and, together with the one at Castellar de los Bueyes, it is the only route in the park open to bicycles.

Bear in mind
In winter some stretches tend to get waterlogged. It is a linear route: if nobody can pick you up at the other end, you have to walk back.

For seeing wildlife, the first and last hours of daylight are the best, according to the park. Official data: park information (MITECO, 2025, in Spanish).

The route

At the Torre de Abraham, the route starts beside the Bullaque river, among riverside vegetation. As you go on, the plants of the Mediterranean scrub appear: holm oak, spurge flax, strawberry tree, French lavender, thyme and broom, and in the dampest corners, peonies. Then the path passes a private raña estate, a plain dotted with holm oaks where, with luck, you can see red deer.

On leaving the park, the Sierra del Chorito and the Sierra Ventilla, with their pedrizas, lie on the right. Along the way there are several kinds of rockrose, cork oaks, Portuguese oaks, mastic trees and terebinths, and more and more farmland. Near Casa Palillos you cross the road and the drove road continues among holm oaks and Portuguese oaks up to the visitor centre.

The park reminds visitors that early in the morning and late in the afternoon it is easy to see wildlife here such as the red deer, the wild boar or the Cinereous Vulture. If you are not going to do the whole route, start at the Torre.

Getting there

Both centres are near Pueblonuevo del Bullaque: the Torre de Abraham, on the CM-403, about 10 km from the village, and Casa Palillos, beside the road from Pueblonuevo to Santa Quiteria. Opening hours and services of both are in Plan your visit. Around both there are short, accessible paths: paths at the visitor centres.

After very heavy rain, access may be cut off. After the January and February 2026 storm, which made the Torre de Abraham reservoir overflow for the first time in thirteen years, at the end of February it was still impossible to get in (January–February 2026 newsletter). If it has rained a lot, call the park first (926 783 297).
