Next to two of the visitor centres there are three short, flat paths that are accessible to people with reduced mobility. They are perfect to complete the visit to the centre, for small children or older people, or to stretch your legs before a 4×4 route.

For seeing wildlife, the first and last hours of daylight are the best, according to the park. Official data: park information (MITECO, 2025, in Spanish).
Torre de Abraham path
A path on raised walkways that goes into the riverside woodland of the Bullaque river. There are willows, ash trees, laurustinus and Portuguese oaks, mixed with plants of the Mediterranean scrub, and it is easy to hear the nightingale or the wagtail. It has simple panels about the plants, and the leaflet «Los usos tradicionales de las plantas» (in Spanish) to do it self-guided.
Since summer 2025 there is also a new 490-metre branch, in a semicircle, that leaves this path and reaches the car park. Of these, 210 metres are an accessible wooden walkway right beside the Bullaque, among willows, ash trees, Montpellier maples and rushes; with luck, a Common Kingfisher passes. It was built by the Guadiana River Basin Authority as part of the restoration of the river, and its shade is welcome in summer. While you are on the dam wall, look at the mud nests: it is a colony of Western House Martins.
The visitor centre was closed for works from August 2025 and reopened with a new exhibition in March 2026: you enter through a dim corridor with a projection about the cranes and the wetlands, and there is a game of tracks with sand and stamps to learn to recognise signs, a model with a species game and the songs of the best-known birds of the park.
Casa Palillos botanical path
A route on wooden walkways with a sample of the trees and shrubs of Cabañeros, from the most abundant to the rarest. Each species has its own panel, so it is a good place to learn to recognise what you will later see on the routes.
Casa Palillos ethnographic path
Part on a walkway and part on a paved track, it crosses the raña with stops devoted to the traditional uses of the park and its surroundings: a watering trough for livestock, a water wheel, a beehive, a charcoal kiln, a threshing floor and the typical huts of the area. It is circular and about 800 metres long. At the start of 2025 the renovation of its walkway began, with the Tourism Sustainability Plan of the Ciudad Real provincial council.
Next to Casa Palillos, large letters, «PN CABAÑEROS», were put up in 2026, meant for a photo with the raña behind, which you see through them.
Getting there
Casa Palillos is beside the road from Pueblonuevo del Bullaque to Santa Quiteria, and the Torre de Abraham is on the CM-403, about 10 km from Pueblonuevo. Opening hours of both centres are in Plan your visit. The two are joined by the Colada de Navalrincón, a flat 9.5 km route. Since the start of 2026, the visitor centres have a bird guide with the points of ornithological interest of the area.
